I love to travel! My bucket list dream was consistently to TRAVEL! In a training program on starting one’s own business in early 2000, I immediately wrote down my desire “to be in the travel industry”. Yes, I was consistently seeking opportunities to enhance our travel experiences. In 2003 prior to retiring in 2005, with a bucket list goal of traveling, I ventured into the travel industry. Initially, I joined YTB Travel in the internet travel business with my own travel website and credentials as a travel agent. In fact twice, I received the highest commissions ever paid by YTB for a single venue event.
While the YTB provided some good opportunities for reduced rates on our travels, something was still missing. Luckily in 2009, I connected with Travelroads.com of Marco Polo Publications, an internet travel website for freelance travel writers to share their travel stories, experiences, and guidance for those seeking travel adventures. Writing about our various travels, experiences, and inspiring others to travel definitely achieves both my passion for travel, sharing experiences, and encouraging others to go exploring.
Starting our own consumer travel site was also a goal. We are delighted to have SeniorTravelTalesandTips.com for sharing inspiring travel tales plus providing guidance and suggestions for seniors seeking travel adventures. Our focus and target audience is the Senior Traveler of the Baby Boom generation. Richard and I find many new adventures in writing and sharing our travels. It is amazing the varied, exciting, usual, and unusual doors travel writing opens for us. As seniors on unique travel expeditions, we often just smile and go with the flow. While we are senior travelers, we also have many experiences with our grandchildren that add an extra element and dimension.
Traveling with my husband, Richard, and sharing stories of our travels to give guidance, recommendations and entertain others continues to be my passion. Richard and I have experiences of cross-country road trip to multi-week trips to excursions in the local area to cruises to river cruise to 1 – 3 month getaways to truly experience a local area. We are excited to share our passion and love of travel with you.
